Well...if the superstition is correct you'll have a mild winter, I guess! I'll need to pay attention if I see one of those, we get them around here too.
Well, it's been so wet Upstate for so many years, I'm surprised we haven't gotten mounds and mounds of snow the past few years. We've had our share of snowstorms, but I don't think we've broken any records in snowfall totals. I'd also read that you could also predict your winter by investigating the thickness of the beaver's house. I wonder if wooly bear length/fatness and beaver house thickness has more to do with an abundant summer than predicting a certain winter?
