Mohawk River flooding

Last night's rain brought the river up out of its banks and into the cornfields over by Fonda again. Wish they would get the canal closed down for the winter and the locks and dams open so at least the fields would dry out and we wouldn't have to worry about it getting into the towns again. Looks as if it is never going to get done raining this year.

Not much sleep here last night, what with the rain and Alan being so sick.

Hope Alan gets well soon, and that the water stays away.

The flooding is quite widespread, and I'm concerned also. All this water seems to be washing out the soil nutrients, as well as damaging stream banks, roads, and fields. When do they usually close the canal?

Best wishes to Alan -- and to you, who cares for him.

Spoil that boy and good luck with the flooding.

Oh my, again! Our lakes are drying out, and you are water-logged! Too bad we can't share.

Hi numberwise, did you hear that Mike Cook up at Fort Plain Agway got hit AGAIN??? Those poor souls up there! There is talk again that they didn't open the dams, and although no one can prove it, I believe that they didn't. The bouys were still in the water.....

Thanks FC, besides being very ill, he is so downed out...opening day of deer season, the first time he is old enough to hunt alone and he can barely walk. Oh, well

Cubby, I so wish we could send this excess of water somehwere where it would do some good. It is devastating the economy, making it impossible to farm and many, many people still don't have their homes back from the June flood. Some never will.
