Just as the USDA kinda, sorta, maybe caved into pressure from farmers and ranchers and made National Animal ID a voluntary program, some **&^%$( in Congress wants to go back to a mandatory program.

Somewhere else (I don't remember where) there's a post about a law Congress wants to pass that they don't want the little people to have their phone numbers. They, elected by the little people (but obviously funded by RFID manufacturers and BigAg) are determined to erode away my rights to own 2 dozen chickens, 2 dairy goats, and 5 alpacas. I am so frustrated I want to hit someone - preferably one of those reps who have obviously been in Congress far too long.
I understand exactly how you feel. It is very frustrating to be governed by people who are totally out of touch with the people who pay them and elect them!
Fight it hard, it doesn't work, it's one more control that the government can keep tabs on you with and they'll also keep changing the rules once it's implemented
Hi loubob,
It is amazing how much success ordinary farmers and ranchers have had so far fighting it. A couple guys I read online have made it into USA Today with their efforts to fight it and it has slowed the USDA down a lot.
