Into the heart of the storm

The snow is 24 inches deep on the car right now, but seems deeper where the wind can't get to it. The extra-large bucket on the skid steer fills before Alan can even go five feet. We haven't seen a storm like this in many, many years.

He took the blue jay photo from the upstairs window using binoculars like he did on the deer pictures last fall. It gives an idea of how hard it was snowing earlier. It has actually gotten worse to the point you can barely see 5S. Big storm!

  3. Thanks laurie, we will do our best. Guess it's our turn for this nasty stuff. I know you missed Christmas because of storms out your way.

  5. I am glad to see this weather is making the rounds threecollie. Sorry but it is a fact. Now we will probably be in the same boat wishing the sun would shine and the temps would warm up! Enjoy it because we know spring is near (she says as she rolls her eyes>)

  6. Hi slick, thanks for visiting. This week I kind of wish I lived in Florida. We are about cleaned up though. One more driveway....

Hey there Joni, it is not so bad today, windy but the sun is real nice and we finally got the last heifer down off the hill. We couldn't get anywhere near her til now, but she is happy to be in with the others today.

  7. I do live in Fl and it's 34 here! I love it. I'm jealous of your beautiful snow. I hope all your animals (and daughters!) got through it all fine.
