Very nice! And in the kitchen, no less! (You must have a much bigger kitchen than I do.) At least it fits in a dog crate... I would have tried that, too, if I'd had a dog crate big enough for the goat...
It's cute. Are you gonna keep it? Did mom desert it or was it just too cold? Does mom take it back if you bring it in to warm it up? (I know nothing about cows.)

Hi Caroline, I thought of you when I had my son bring her inside today. She was born in the barn but got very cold and wet, so he warmed her up with warm water and brought her in to dry off and get some food into her. Her mother might accept her, but we hand raise all our calves. She wasn't very interested in it this morning. First calf for her and she really had no clue. We probably won't keep her but will sell her as a dairy replacement heifer.
My question is - is she loud?

Cubby, yep, she was bawling when the pic was taken and she sounds like thunder when she stomps around

Thank goodness for farm kitchens, for there is no way to find a warm, draft-free place in a barn on days like this. Cute!
If it were my wife that cute little heffer would reside in the kitchen until the cuteness wore off.

NW, yup, I sure don't actually want a calf in the kitchen, but she would certainly have died yesterday if we hadn't brought her in. Her mama had no clue what to do with her and it is mighty cold...not to mention that she is half Jersey and their calves have about the life expectancy of a gnat if you don't fuss over them;
Dave, they are cute...that is one thing they have going for them. lol

"cute"?!! evil little monster. noisy. keeps good hard working college students up or wakes them up earlier than they like in the morning. "cute"? i don't think so... just kidding Zippette is awful cute. mostly 'cause i ain't gotta feed her.
