Turkish Dogs has a really well thought out post up just now, which details the agenda of the Humane Society of the United States and PeTA in a truly enlightening manner. You know, of course, that as far as those organizations are concerned we have no right to interact with animals unless they are starring in animated Disney drivel and we are paying to look them on the TV screen.
Janice has included some truly damning quotes inher post. You will be grinding your teeth, I'll tell you.

*Sigh* Once again our philosophies are at odds... I mean, how can you SAY such things!
animated Disney drivel
Some of it is QUITE GOOD! My daughters loves it!
As for PETA and their buddies... hypocrites and idiots who are more about shock value and dumb and painful "solutions" than actual assistance to animals. Ach! I wish these nitwits would shut the heck up.
Oh, need a "sad" giggle?

Wow!!!!!!! I kinda figured the Humane Society was a global-Mother-Gaia kind of movement... these folks are rabid control-freaks. Yikes!
Ah, Matthew, you are right; there are a lot of good ones. I love Aladin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid etc. I just hate the chicken ones and Bambi, which I figure started a lot of the animal rights movement in the US.
Couldn't get to the link. Got a 404 error message instead.
Mrs. M, some humane societies do a wonderful job. It is specifically HSUS that is a radical animal rights group.
Sorry 'bout that...
Try this...

Good one matthew.
PETA's senior VP is a diabetic who takes insulin that both contains animal products and has been tested on animals. She has publically stated she feels no guilt over this and doesn't see it as hypocritical because her life is important for saving animals.
