Watch those Queen Anne's Lace seed heads. They open on dry days and close up again on damp days. They do that all winter! I noticed it a year or two ago and kept records for a while.

Re our diet conversations a few days ago . . . Cornell University just put out a study saying that, in New York State at least, eating a bit of meat is more energy efficient than a total vegetarian diet providing the meat comes from animals that only eat grasses due to the fact that New York has so much land that will not grow vegetables but will grow grass.

OW, I hadn't noticed, but now I will look. Those in the photograph are right outside the kitchen so I can keep an eye on them.
I had seen the Cornell study and thought it was fairly interesting. I didn't actually read it to see how they reached their conclusions though.

Nw, thanks, this time when I went out to play with my camera I left the dog inside so I took pictures instead of herding the rooster. lol

Those are nice pictures. I keep seeing all these pretty things when I'm driving the bus and thinking if only I could stop and take a picture.... All though, if I see the bear again this year I'm stopping.
