For everyone's kind words yesterday. It appears that I may have panicked too soon. Mike seems to be suffering from this, which although bad enough can be overcome.
Canine vestibular disease, a common problem with older dogs. Who knew? He could get better in time. I hope he does, although he has been failing overall for about a year now. I will take whatever I can get.

That is a relief - at least you know what to do now. He is still lucky you care so much, and that alone will make his last years more comfortable.
Whew!
What a relief. Hopefully the treatments give Mike some comfort and strength so he can more fully enjoy your company.
Some aren't as fortunate as you and Mike. What a blessing.
He knows you love him and he's trying to show you the same as best he can.
It's always a hard thing when a dog gets old. All the best! Hugs!
Nita, yes it is...although the poor guy is really a mess. He really appreciates being helped around the house though
Steve, I am hoping that he is one of the lucky dogs that recovers spontaneously. I did have another dog years ago, ironically another one of those spectacularly great dogs you miss forever, who wasn't lucky enough to recover.
Linda, thanks so much...and thanks for taking time to visit when things are so tough at your place. Stay warm!
