Wish we were here...but we were just at the station pumping gas
when this pretty boat went by on the river

We were going here instead...the three Northview girls can pick like crazy. Eight quarts in under an hour.....just four miles down the road with three left turns . I was gonna make jam, but ran out of time, so I froze most of them.....except the ones for strawberry shortcake. We couldn't get any whipped cream over in town, they were out.
So we had Philadelphia vanilla ice cream instead....oh, and we didn't have the ingredients for the sweetened biscuits that go so well with the berries...so Becky made these little shortbread cookie things......wish you were here.

The first berries are always a welcome sight, but they sure taste good in the winter too. Shortcake is good anytime.
Fred, Man those look good!!!!!
Is Alan done this week also??
Tawny is done on sAturday. This weekend is going to be busy.
Love ya
Mappy
We picked strawberries two weeks ago. I didn't get to do anything with them...we ate them all!
Nita, I couldn't believe how wonderful the field smelled when we went to pick yesterday. It was so delightful. the berries are getting a little small and sparse this late in the season but they make it up in flavor. I wanted to make jam, but none are left.
Matt, they are good....or should I say were?
Alan graduates Saturday, but has been out of school for a while...back tomorrow for rehearsal
Love you too little bro
STacy, these were for jam...and ended up in shortcake, cereal, pie, the freezer or just plain eaten. Maybe we can pick more next week...lol
when I saw the first picture after the boat I thought, "Hmm, face stuffing going on here, what have they found?" I love strawberry short cake! I need to get some tomorrow. There is a stand about three or four blocks from here.
Mmmmmm, strawberries!
Tim, you definitely gotta go get some. We have eaten so well the past couple of days it is probably illegal.
Jeffro, you can say that again! We might go get more today...
