Gloomy Road Trip
Had to run to Coby yesterday. Saw this stuff. Tried to get a decent picture of the winterberry holly, which is the most incredible red you can imagine against the drab fall colors in the swamp. However, the roadside was far too soft to pull off and traffic was sailing. Maybe another day..... before the berries fall. The hawk was perched right at the bottom of the driveway, but we couldn't get a good picture until he flew. Liz took the ones of him, as he was on her side of the car.
I hope next time I can get better pictures to share...

i'll take the deer stand out of the car when i get home.
It's gloomy here as well - not really rainy just wet enough not to be able to do what needs to be done outside.
I've seen tons of red berries on the side of the roadways but not sure what they are. We cut some each year for our window boxes and front porch to add to greens.
**There is an award for you on my blog :)
Alan, I am not all that worried about it. It is dry there and not under my feet. Love you, mom
Deb, thanks so much for nominating me for that. I am so amazed when someone thinks I should have one, not to mention delighted.
As to the winterberry holly. It makes a great decoration and I would love to bring some in, but all the bushes I know about are way out in the swamp in beaucoup feet of water. It sure is pretty!
