Some Commonsense on New York's Fat Tax

(Or, I wish I had written this column)

Actually I have been working on something along these lines, but John Gray said it better than I ever could in this opinion piece in the Troy Record. I guess I will scrap mine and defer to his.

Good job Mr. Gray! Thanks for saying what a lot of us New Yorkers are thinking!

And here is a link to a story about how PeTA saves animals...or not.

Thanks for sharing 3C's. I love the new header photo, lovely girls!
Everyone is responsible for their own lives, even if it does come around and kick you square in the pants...

Sometimes I wish we could dump everyone in Government and start over...

We had a bit of trouble here a few years ago with a 'group' that wanted to stop the sales yard from selling animals. Sighn

Fat tax. That still makes me laugh not to mention the fact that isn't it only regular not diet soda? What about those people who can't drink diet because they're allergic to it, that pheno stuff or what ever? Isn't that discrimination? Somehow?

If the media in this country weren't so lazy and would investigate PETA instead of just running their press releases as news or considering them cute and harmless, more people might understand how truly evil they are.

WW, he said it well didn't he? thanks for your kind words on the header. I thought it was time for a change and I love the way this one fit in.

Ed, my sentiments exactly!

Linda, dumping the whole lot does seem like a plan!

Apple, it is sad that a state that has so much to offer treats its citizens so poorly. I have been through a good part of the country and never found anywhere I liked half as well, but the government is such a liability

Rebz, Empire....yeah, that about sums it up

Breezey, phenylketonuria ...good point and one that Paterson obviously hasn't considered

Jan, I think if you summed up the effects of their efforts through the history of the organization you would find that they were negative for animals. And certainly negative for people.

Teri, it was a good one. I have been fooling around with it for a couple of weeks, but this is the second article where someone else has said it better than I can....maybe I will think of a fresh slant on it though.

Obesity tax? Hmm. Maybe this is a ploy by the head of the Diet soda departments! ;)

I am just catching up on my blog reading, and I want to know what kind of trashy novels you read. (From the post a while back on Dec 31.) Us trashy-novel readers should stick together, after all!
