What do Chainsaw Chaps and Crocheted Hats

Have in common?
The answer to this pressing question:
Alan is the common denominator. He got the chaps thrown in the deal with his new saw and he made the hats. Becky taught herself to crochet from a little book while home on break this winter. He was watching her, decided to try it and made himself the light green hat. Then he made me the dark green one, which will henceforth be my Sunday-go-to-meeting hat. Great answers in the comments though! I especially like Steve's offerings (freste).

1) Cows have no use for them
2) Used together, you can scare poachers
3) They're good mosquito repellers in the summer
4) Neither will protect you from a kick in the pants if you accidentally leave the gate open
5) Both stay at home on a hot date.

Tell Alan that those hats are gorgeous! I want one! Did he get the pattern from Becky's book, or just make it up? I have some yarn around here he can have if he wants to make more!
Love

Mom, he made it up! I told him you has some yarn and he told me to ask you your hat size. Love you!

Very good work for someone just beginning. If he wants, he can avoid the join line showing by making sure he always starts the new color on the right (public) side of his work. As a knitter and crocheter, I am glad to see another male join our ranks and to be proud of his work. Keep it up Alan!

I told him how to do it. I should get some credit.

Ig, that is so cool! When he was a bit sensitive about doing it and sewing we pointed out Rosie Greer, as in what do professional football and needlepoint have in common. I will tell him what you said.

Breezey, we know you did and I wish you would finish the piece you are making. It is going to be very pretty.

Wow Alan is a man of many talents! I love both hats. The chaps aren't bad either :)

Hi Tipper, thanks, he is quite a kid. The pulsators on the milking machine were not working this morning and he just took one apart and fixed it...never done it before, no one taught him how. he just did it. I think we will keep him. lol
