Some days you take a lot of pictures, (starting the night before) out on the hill trying to get close ups of the outrageous numbers of ducks coming in every night.
And wind up with cold hands and blurs.
Some days the moon is simply spectacular so you go out before dawn and take a lot of pictures with the tripod and all kinds of settings.
And end up with cold hands and weird white circles
Some days you clean the ashes out of the woodstove
It will be nice to be able to fit some wood in (which should help with the cold hands situation).
Some days you go after action shots of birds
And simply don't get any.
Some days you look at the agriculture section of the porkulus plot...er, I mean the stimulus bill...and see that the vast majority of so called ag expenditures are planned for food stamps. Makes sense to me. Most farmers, particularly dairy, are looking at unprecedented financial challenges this year. Let's put 'em all on food stamps....

I havent had my camera out in months! We are getting ready to move. Miss Ya!
Love the chickadee photo :) At least he's a happy little fellow.
The stimulus bill is a scary proposition no matter how you look at it......
Warmer days are coming :)
I have those days! When I want to take a picture, it never turns out. When I'm not expecting a picture, I can't get the camera out fast enough!
We have Waxwings in the yard right now, and hard as I try, I can't get a single good shot of the little stinkers! Yep, some days...
Sometimes I get really, really worried about where we are going with this 'whole new look' to everything. The stimulus bill is just one piece. I get so worried I can't sleep at night. I really wish someone could tell me the answers to our future so I would know which path to take, but that isn't to be.

Wouldn't it be reassuring if someone who is voting for it would actually read it?
Some days:
It might be nice to be the dog instead of the fire hydrant?
what if the stimulus money went "directly" to the people, instead of waiting for it to trickle down to us...what if....would that have worked?
i've worked in a graocery store in the past...and oh how it kills me to see what they can buy with their food stamps...seafood, like bags of clams for summertime picnics....soda by the cases and NOT have to pay the deposit on it (but they can get the deposit back, when they return them), halloween candy by the bushels, i guess it doesn't matter if they "blow" the budget on non-nutritious food, they'll get a new allotment next month!...they buy tv dinners or processed foods for families of 5 or 6 to eat...i guess no ones ever heard of cooking a meal like meat/potatoes/veggies....and i just love the WIC program...so many of them are extremely ungreatful with that too....they complain nonstop about how they don't like that kind of cereal or they hate that juice...well them get off the program, and then they hollar about having to go and recertify every 3 months or so...then don't!...but then they just go on food stamps and have it all handed to them anyway...GET JOBS and stop popping out kids to get the handouts!...grrrrrrrrr!
some days....
people ought to be considerate enough to just take care of themselves and their families, forget public assistance, you have 10 kids, feed them yourself!
That sounds like me to a capital "T" always out with my trusty Nikon looking for shots in all kinds of weather, sometines something good, sometimes not so good. But I keep at it and it is rewarding... :-)
I really hope O'Bama knows what he is doing, but I'm willing to give him a chance, it can't get any worse... or can it?
It's true, you can't do everything all at once, but on some days you can get things done ... one day at a time. A day will tell you which of the "some" to do.
Tim, I thought you were gone! Glad you are back though I am saddened to read about your housing troubles
Deb, thanks, it ended up kinda faded and vague, but I liked the detail. The bill is frightening. Leave the economy alone. If fuel prices remain lower than last year it will recover in time.
The Wife, it sure was one of them! Btw, Liz received your wonderful package yesterday. What a thrill. Do you make the candles? The scent was incredible!
Dani, your bird photos are wonderful and I am sure you will get them eventually. I have never gotten close enough to even try at one, but I love them
Linda, same here..it is hard to turn it off some nights. And I resent all the feeding programs being charged up to farming under the USDA.
Jan, it boggles my mind how they even put 1500 plus pages together so darned fast. I started out to read it myself as Fox is asking people to personally peruse it for pork, but online it is a massive pdf that bogs my poor computer right down.
Jeffro, nicely put and very true. In recent weeks I have sat down with dear friends and marveled about how bad things are and how quickly they got that way.
Anon, I know exactly what you speak of. It is a misery to sit at the county building and watch young, healthy guys that could bend me into a pretzel with one hand, wearing a thousand bucks worth of clothes trotting in to sign up, while I stand in line at the Motor Vehicle in WalMart jeans that are going to have to go me another year or two, knowing I will probably croak before I can afford to even contemplate retirement. They are just out of their teens and already retired. Dang!
Ed, your photographs are incredible and I am simply in awe when I visit your page. And I would be a lot happier with the O man if he brought new blood into Washington. The same old same old just doesn't cut it. It really could get worse I fear.
Robert, it is so funny. Some days I will be far too busy to go after photos, but things will pop up, I will point and click and get the best shots of the year. Other days I will actively go out shooting and get nothing. And I did get the stove cleaned out at least and my son was happy because he could get more wood into it...lol
Nothing about the porkulus makes sense to me.
Weird ladybug in the other posts-looks like fuzz all over it-but guess it would have to be very tiny fuzz.
tipper, I feel like I should change my name to Alice or something...as in wonderland. And I did wonder about dust. Could certainly be.
