Two Year's Work
Went into this lovely quilt my mom made for Alan. Over the years she has made others for the girls, me and other family members, but I think this one is perhaps the piece de resistance. Notice the turkeys and deer for our favorite hunter, the little Scotsman for the times when he attended Scottish games in his kilt (back in the day). And tractors for the farmer and drums and cymbals for all the years in band. I guess she knows our boy pretty well. We love you mom!

Wow - the quilt is fantastic. So much work!
An heirloom Alan will treasure always, I'm sure :)
What a wonderful quilt! How lucky for you all to have treasures such as these.
That quilt is beautiful. You can tell the love that went into it.
That is perfect! I love all the personal touches and that he is so proud of the quilt too!
Nice job Grandma!
Now that is something to be very proud of, and it will along with the good thoughts and love, keep one warm, too. I especially like the backing, fits the young man.
That is everything the word, "amazing" means.
That is AMAZING! I am so impressed! What an accomplished artist!

Very cool, i'll have to tell my mom about this one..:-)
That's incredible, the quilts will be cherished always. And with stories to go with them!
oops, I'm anonymous.
That is ...... COOL!
Deb, he is so thrilled with it. He wouldn't even put it on his bed until we got some good pics for Gram
Dani, we are so privileged. The whole family makes things for each other and they are so delightful to live with
Cathy, mom is just amazing!
Nita, thanks I will tell her, if she doesn't come on and read for herself.
Earl it does exactly! She gets it! Thanks
Steve, it is. I can't believe how incredible it is. If you could see the little buttons that she used to look as if they were nails holding up the deer crossing signs...they look so real that when he was sleeping under it yesterday (he is sick) I kept thinking I had better pull the pins out before they stuck him...just in passing.
Linda, thanks on her behalf. And she paints too. If you do a search you can see the paintings she did of the girls. They are spectacular.
Jan, two years! It boggles my mind!
Matt, she is the best! You are all the best. I have the best family anyone could ask for!
Ed, moms are the best thing to happen to us aren't they?
Teri, she made me one back in my goat days with portraits of all my goats, horse and dogs sewed into them. It is the most wonderful soft and lovely thing!
Jeffro, it is, isn't it! I need to take some close ups of the pigeons on the barn roofs. They are amazing!
What a wonderful gift!
I love it!
Wow! Amazing! Beautiful! Wonderful!
Thanks for sending me the picture. I am not sure I was able to download it, picassa is a puzzle to me. This was a very fun quilt to make. I kept reading my book that said finished is better thank perfect, and kept thinking of more things I wanted to do, which is partly why I took so long. Alan is such a special little boy and he deserves something warm like this. I wish I could have perfected the picture of him in his kilt when he went to the Scottish Games with us. Liz remembers. I am so glad he likes it. Hope he is feeling better. Love Mom
ST, isn't it wonderful! I keep noticing more details every time I look at it!
Kristen, it is so cool!
Mom, you are amazing! As everyone said, what artistry, what talent, what patience, what love! Best grandma award should surely be reserved for you. Love you!
And if you have trouble with the pics, give me a call and I will talk you through downloading.
Oh my word! That is stunning!!! What a wonderful gift for your son.
Mrs. M, it is amazing indeed. Thanks
