I hope you will wish us well today. We have to get the pigs over to be processed and haul a cow and a heifer to the sale. This is usually not such a big deal, but the ice is so bad the dog even fell down and had to be helped to safety. It is like living on an ice floe on the ocean or something. The guys sanded as best they could yesterday but.....

Do be as careful as you can. The ice is so dangerous. We've been trying to keep sand/sawdust down where the cows come in but they slip and slide anyways.
Now there's snow on top of it again so you can't see it!
Hope all goes well and that you all get home safe and sound.
ice is the worst. Have a safe trip.
Lots of well wishes from us! Hope the day is good and you get home safely.
Sorry, did'nt realize you guy's were having issues like this up North. Hope the animal's stay calm and make it safer for all of you...safe passage..
Yummy, bacon and sausage...
Hey, Three C's, I was at the Farm Show on Friday, and I think we may have had the same shuttle driver, grumpy as they get, and had to park back in the north 40, but we had fun walking around and looking at all the equipment and goodies... I can't wait for Empire Farm Days, its just a hop, skip and jump down the road from me so I dont miss it. Last year I was in the NYS Beef Producers Tent serving up BBQ sandwiches.... See you there??
Be safe, I just saw on the weather that more bad weather is on the way.
Don't want to bruise anyone's hams! :)
Be careful, ditto about the hams LOL!
Fred hope all went well!!!
Drove through the snow storm this morning. 33/4 hour drive took me over 5 hours!! what fun what fun!!
All is well though.
Love ya
Mappy

Deb, thanks we got it done, although as you know, loading pigs is not a pleasant job. I am so glad it is over
Cathy, thanks!
Dani, Believe me I appreciate your good thoughts. It took an hour to load the pigs and we looked like snow cones when we were done, but it is over
WW, One pig was fine. The other wasn't. Can't wait for the sausage! lol
We probably passed each other without recognizing us at the farm show.
The kids and the boss may go to EFD. I haven't been in a while because it is just too much for me to go that far (over three hours for us just to drive one way) and milk cows on both ends of the day. getting old I guess.
Nita, thanks, I think they got the best of it. One ran the boss against the trailer several times before we finally got her loaded. Glad to see the back of them, I'll tell you. Not a fan of pigs
Thanks Linda, ours and theirs. lol
Matty, We got it done..no trouble with the cows, not so lucky with the pigs. I can believe your drive was rough. The boss had an awful time getting to Altamont with the trailer. Roads were appalling! Love you too
Linda, thanks, we got it done and wet was the worst damage we suffered. It was good to get back into the warm house!
You were in Altamont!!!! Next time my treat for breakfast or lunch at the Home Front. They have the best corncakes!
Teri, that is so sweet! Come better weather we will have to get together!
