Saturday we had a weird little storm. It snowed most of the afternoon with an inch or two of accumulation. What was odd was that it stuck to everything.
And stayed.
On Sunday morning it was still glued in place on every tree and wire. That is a very unusual phenomenon. Normally you can expect either wind or rain when the snow sticks like that and it usually arrives very quickly after the end of the snow.
Although I am no fan of winter, it was amazing to look out the big windows Saturday evening and see the trees over in the town across the river, coated in white and lit up by the street lights. It may be trite to say it but it looked like a Christmas card.

We had the same weird snow phenomenon---our ground was so warm that our little bit of accumulation melted pretty quickly, but the trees and bushes stayed plastered with snow until the middle of yesterday. It was odd looking, but pretty.
We've never had that happen before, but when did have something like it happen with frost. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!! Even made the local paper... We don't get much excitement in these parts. :)

Dani, thanks, even to a snow hater like me it was pretty. I am glad our little birds have your warm climate for their vacations. we are beginning to look for the irruptive species here...probably won't be long until the first redpoll and LIz thinks she saw a snowy owl already

Steve, yeah, it is cold....the guys are doing their best, although on days like this the stove can't really keep up. I am thankful for long johns and fleece vests. lol
