Michigan Meatout Makes Many Mad

The State Senate

A Facebook group

Farm Bureau

And even me. What on earth possessed the governor of Michigan, where agriculture is the number 2 industry (to the tune of 71.3 billion bucks a year) to declare Saturday the 20th of March (not at all incidentally National Agriculture Day) Michigan Meatout day? I can't imagine.

I hope she wakes up and rescinds the proclamation. In the meanwhile, even if she doesn't I suspect that most Michiganders will ignore her ignorance and munch on meaty meals this weekend.

Her head must of been on backwards on the day she did that!

TC. What's it all about? It's the enviro-whacko-ninnie-wanna-be-nanny-state-PC-guilt-tripping-holier-than-thou leftists that believe we humans are a virus on Gaia and that we need to do penance - LOTS OF PENANCE and that if we won't just die and reduce the excess population then we should at least stop eating, farting, reproducing and breathing.

Thank you very much.

(Now where's that blood pressure medication)

That's a great way to help boost agriculture in her own state...duh - what rock do these people crawl out from under? and who elects these people to public office?
It's a scary time folks :(

Well, since I don't want to grab my rifle and rush to the barricades and resist the fools in elected office, tarring and feathering comes to mind, I am going to be very happy adding meat to every meal on the 20th and emailing the stupid governor of Michigan - it is possible that Mayor Daley has had influence beyond Chicago?

email the governor -- yes, 10 pts!

My guess is that meat and dairy consumption will be at an all time high on that day in Michigan.

Too many of us with brains that function are up to here with this sort of thing.

CATHY!
That is the funniest name-calling-of-the-liberals I have ever heard. I am forwarding your comment to my husband.
Also- "Hi, 3C."
XOXO

We have a 'greeny' for a governor over here. First he got rid of the gas and oil people by raising fees, then he begged them to come back (they laughed at him) and now he is after the coal mines. The number one job producer and payer of taxes in the state.

I just shake my head at the 'stupidness' of some people.

Lisa, I find it very puzzling. The things people in high places do, without thinking are downright outrageous.

Cathy, well put! I love the virus on Gaia part....I wonder if we will be allowed to have our BP meds under the new legislation.

Deb, I fear that there are too few people left who have ever actually worked to make a living. Oh, they may have worked to go to college, but you can bet they never actually produced anything.

Earl, more than 10 points! I have been emailing our area representation in Congress over the health care bill, but I fear they are much more fearful of higher ups in Washington than they are of my one lowly vote.

Jan, if the FB groups are any barometer by which to judge, I wish I ran a grocery store meat counter there!

Rebz, the "virus on Gaia" part was one of the best things I have seen in weeks...and hi back at you. Glad to be reading the new things you are posting

Linda, too many non-productive people running anything with no clue about economic realities. Sad.

The way I see it, let the vegans try to take over (being sarcastic...) It's a scientific FACT that Vegetarians and Vegans don't live as long as those of us who eat meat... Mmm for the love of a good steak!
