Drinking from the Wild Grape

Alan cut this big wild grape vine off the fence the other day...an amazing amount of liquid pours out of it.

Here he is enjoying a drink from a freshly cut one
. He says it is the sweetest, clearest water you can find.....I cannot attest to that, as I didn't try it.

Here is a short video of the kid calling turkeys yesterday.

OK. Now I've got to find myself a grapevine. I wonder if all deciduous plant sap is safe to drink.

Love the turkey calling. Any succes?

You've probably told us, but how old is Alan? He's a cutie!

Cathy, I didn't try it myself, but I think he learned to do it from his fisheries and wildlife teacher last year. I am hoping he knows what he is up to.
He hasn't actually gone turkey hunting yet...just too busy with school and crop work. I just wanted to make a video of him calling so we did it while we were mending the fence...and he is twenty.
