On Monday
The weather is as perfect as weather can be...cool mornings with clear, bright, peach gold sunlight. Blankets of silver dew shining on the hillsides. Webs of glistening fog floating in the hollows.
The hummers showed up at the feeder less than a day after I filled it. They are very tame and I am thinking probably the same ones as were here last year. I feel bad if I accidentally scare them away from the sitting porch....no wrens yet, but I heard a cat bird. Watched the kestrel hovering over the long lawn, Maltese cross in silhouette. It is so good to finally have them back.
Cows are content with the new green grass and long days of grazing on it. They come in with udders full of milk, then rush back outside to fill them up again.
It is the best time of year and I won't let it be spoiled for me....planting potatoes today if all goes well.
Lisa, thanks, it was a glorious morning and I was much enjoying taking pictures...and then my batteries went dead. lol No time to recharge had to milk so I missed the best part of the day
Dani, thanks, it was so nice out...a reminder of why we linger in upstate NY when so many months of the year our weather is horrible
Sara, trying to rain here too, but I am hoping it holds off til the boss gets done drilling sudan grass
Cathy, because of rain we couldn't get them out in this field for two years. The grass is up to their chins...they are just nipping off the tops right now. lol We saw a catbird in the lane last night with a huge hunk of something fluffy almost as big as it was. Nesting already I guess.

I love the first shot! Looks so nice!
The second pic is so soothing with the early morning sun shining through the trees.
I envy your nice days... the sun was out for all of an hour this morning before rain clouds zoomed in... quack quack from Missouri! :)
Doesn't tale those hummers long, does it?
Clouded up here pretty early in the day, but no rain...yet. Nice temperatures for working out doors.
Don't forget to put down the mayapple stems and leaves around your potato plants!!!
Beautiful pictures. How I hated leaving my own version of those scenes this morning to go back to work!

Joated, made my day to see them!
June, that is new to me! What does it do?
Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.
I'm so glad your cows are contentedly grazing on new grass. It's a very pleasant image.
I, too, have a Catbird in the shrubby area between our house and the neighbor's.
Lot of caterwauling going on in there :0)
