"Today, we Americans celebrate July 4th without any apparent questions about the meaning of freedom. At the time of the American revolution 90% of the eligible voters, granted they were male and white, were self employed.
Today, most Americans are employees and I would hold that is an important thought to give pause as to the meaning of freedom"

That sure is food for thought!
AMEN AMEN AMEN.
I've often pondered that line of thinking-- we are heavily inculcated into "the system." And the self-employed is punished and penalized.
Lisa, it interested me to consider how differently one might consider almost any issue from the view point of someone who works for someone else as opposed to someone who is ultimately responsible for all the important decisions that affect them...
Rebecca, self employment is like a sin of stupidity or something. They don't even want our opinions on surveys.
