Dwarfed

Anything I could write about life here at Northview would be so dwarfed by the horror in Japan that I can't seem to say much. The little triumphs and tragedies go on here as always, but the shadow of the horror there looms huge over everything.

What can you do but hope and pray? I just don't know.

I sure agree, really makes you not want to blog today.

Blog on, those farmers and fishermen and many others that have been effected would like to be doing so. The prayers are always going, and well received.

Lisa, I felt guilty whining about our fun with a prolapsed uterus while thousands of people were facing such disaster

Earl, took your advice.

We've been traveling and I've missed a few of your posts.

Marianne, we watch a little of this on tv and then we just have to shut it off.

How do you wrap your mind around this level of horror? Just not humanly possible.
So we turn back to the details and necessities of our own lives.

My response is to try to be mindful of what is good and right in our lives - to try to keep perspective when struggling with our own worries and pain. To do good and alleviate suffering where we can.

You could go mad taking on the enormity of the world's suffering. It's not selfish or insensitive to move on.
It's self-preservation.

Cathy, I watch with admiration the way the people there take a hold of the crisis and turn it so they can survive. They are amazing in the way they do so. Thank you for your kind words, which made me feel much better about not being able to ignore spring as it bursts on stage waving its hat and cane and singing Broadway songs.
