Self portrait? Has all this rain turned you into a fungus? It sure has done that to my shoes. I don't have a dry pair left. Nice photo. Loved those cloud photos, too, although I sure am sick of seeing them up there all the time.
WW, exactly! We are living in a forest of half-dry clothes and boots, mingled with soggy wet ones. A few sunny hours are like a blessing from Heaven...but they are hard to find
Jan, lol, see, you never know who...or what...you will meet on the web.
Cathy, got it! It is so wet that the poor honey locust that is hosting those shrooms also has sunflowers sprouting all over it where the chickadees have stuffed seeds in the bark and a black raspberry bush growing out of a knot about head high.
Linda, it is just too much! And the tornadoes all over. So horrible. I listened to an audio of some people going through the one in Joplin and it was terrifying. Hollywood at its worst...or finest...couldn't produce anything like that five minute clip.

I've never seen you as a parasite. What am i missing?
Oh sure. Fungus. Ha. You don't hold still long enough to set your mycelia down.
Now maybe you were identifying with that dead wood. Nope. That doesn't fit either.
OK. I get it. The fungus-festooned log is a metaphor for the effect of this monsoon season on your body and soul. Now THAT fits!
Are you a mushroom in the dark? Rain...I'm sick of the rain also!
It's raining as I write this...ugh

I'm looking at one mushroom that's head and sholders above the rest...just like you!
