Well that story sure boosts my confidence about voting security./sarc
Two words: Paper ballots
And not those punch card type that leave hanging chads either. No siree! Once is enough.
Printed paper ballots where you have to put an X in the box. Maybe they have to be hand counted and it takes longer, but so what. Those old time ballots and proper ID at the time of voting are vital to real, honest and trustworthy elections.
The only advantage electronic voting has is the speed with which the results are known on the night of the election. And THAT is only important to the media. We still don't swear in the winners until January for crying out loud.
Joated, to me this is much scarier than hurricanes and tornadoes. I agree with you on simpler, less easy to tamper with voting methods. The new machines are hard to use and obviously unreliable.
Jan, the dead still vote, early and often, in many districts. Sad, but true. Now anybody with ten dollars worth of technology can do all the voting. Gah.

Sounds better than the old way of having the dead vote. Several times.
