Probly not the time to mention my blooming camellias...

  2. Nice wintry pics, though. We won't see anything resembling "spring" until April, here.

  3. I'm getting tired of these reminders. Last night the lights blinked off and on as icy rain/sleet fell. Nuff already! But it does make for some pretty pictures.

  4. So is most of March still winter. That's when we've been walloped with some our biggest snowfalls of all. Your photos are lovely. I would have found scenes like these even lovelier in mid-January. The Red-winged Blackbirds are coming back. It's time for Spring!

Love your photos and your writings. I am from Amsterdam now living in Northern California. I miss it. California will never be home to me. Thank you for bringing me home.

  6. What Woodswalker said. Even early April isn't safe from snow. I recall many a white woods and field on opening day of trout season.

Hopefully this batch won't last long. We were just about down to bare ground when it dumped 4 inches of heavy, wet white crud on us today.

  7. Jan, mention away, please do. I can enjoy vicariously. Pictures would be good too. lol

Rev. Paul, it is sure dragging its heels around here too.

Cathy, and so much gloom. If it is sunny, it is frigid and windy, if it is warm enough to stand going outside it is grey,. Bah!

WW, I am so jealous of your blackbirds. None here yet. I keep going out and listening on the back porch, but nothing but the noisy Thruway and the common winter birds so far.

Peppermint Patty, thank you so much for visiting! Sorry you are missing your home town. We talk about moving away to escape lousy weather and even worse government, but it is hard not to love Upstate NY

joated, same here. I rarely trout fish even in the opening month of the season. Just not that dedicated. Foggy here this morning.

If you are looking to escape worst government.....California is NOT the place! If you want to know just how bad things can get, just look to California. At one time they were actually talking about banning black cars because the color absorbed too much heat and then people would use to much a/c while driving, which they don't want us to do either AND now, you are only supposed to use your wood burning fireplace/wood stove when it's a burn day. Enviro whackos are deeply entrenched here when they aren't trying to make drugs legal. This is a way different place and not in a good way!!

  9. Peppermint Pattie, I read about it...and it boggles the mind. I don't understand, just don't get it at all. Glad I am not young and just starting out amid all this craziness.
