Sunday Stills....Hand Tools
Such a miserable week for weather, with not one single day that offered good light for this challenge, so I finally went with what I could find right here in the kitchen...then the boss brought me in some stuff from the porch. We have a lot cooler stuff out in the buildings...I promise...but I just couldn't work up the gumption to slog through the mud and rain to get them..
That orange hammer is my hammer, much guarded and often chased down when liberated from kitchen confinement by men with sticky fingers. Everybody likes my hammer and knows where to find it.
And everybody knows that they might better bring it back when done with it. The boss once bought me an entire tool box full of tools, just so he could borrow them, knowing I would keep track of them.....
For more Sunday Stills.....
Nice selection of tools. I noticed an old and newer leather punch. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! I am the 'tool' person around my place. Hates it when my hammer walks off.
ReplyDeleteAnd the well-worn rolling pins in that oh-so-famiiar drawer . . . if only they could talk . .
Love the fact that you included the kitchen tools, I don't think folks think of them when you say "tools"!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are that.
The weather sure was the real challenge this week. I know you have to have some good tools around the place. Nice shots, I especially like the one by the window.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and a nice variety, I think we all have our favorite hammers..:-)
ReplyDeleteInteresting tools and weren't you smart to include your kitchen drawer!
ReplyDeleteI have my own hammer also! And it gets moved lots ALSO. SO I put it in a different spot and, guess what, didn't work. :)

When my father was alive, there wasn't a wrench around that he didn't plant hoping it would grow. Or perhaps it was his negligence in keeping track....
ReplyDeleteHe and I got into a big time argument because he decided it was far easier to raid my toolbox locked in the trunk of my car and never return those tools. I actually had to keep my keys away from him, because he saw nothing wrong with that.
What was his was his and what was mine was his, and I shouldn't question that.
Very nice selection.
ReplyDeleteI have a hammer like yours, only with a blue handle. I stole it from my dad at some point. He kept pointing that out to me while never actually following up on his threat of taking it back.
dibear, one is prolly almost as old as I am. Sure had it a long time.
ReplyDeleteCathy, one was my grandma's and one was the boss's mom's. They have participated in their humble way in many a celebration.
Caroline, among my favorite tools too. I especially love going to the restaurant supply store for long-handled melamine spoons.
Dancing, thank you! It was the only place I could find any light. And then this morning it is sunny. go figure. lol
Ed, thanks, i have had several over the years, but this is the longest lasting.
Martine, thanks, now if only it was better organized. lol
Linda, I have never found a solution to men "borrowing" tools. My only defense is to either stomp my feet and demand their return or go find them myself. Usually the latter. lol
jeffro, oh, man do I hear you. We have a huge "crop" around this place. I quietly pick them up and keep them until they come looking for them. I always have quite a selection. My dad is the opposite though, positively fanatical about tools, a place for all and every one always in that place. I am not quite as fussy, but everybody knows that I know where my hammer, screw drivers, etc. are, and react accordingly.

Eva, My dad has actually given me a couple of good hammers over the years, but then other people broke them. I used to have a real favorite with "Marianne's Hitting Stick" wood burned on the handle that he made me. I really hated it when someone broke that one.
