Awake to Rain and Thunder
And enough lightning to see it with your eyes shut, buried in your pillows, hoping for just a few more minutes before the work day starts. What a show for the end of the fair and the end of the summer, calendar or no.
After months of perfect clouds of dark green leaves on every tree, and velvet emerald grass, everything is tattering and fraying and wearing away toward winter. As I type I can watch the cows drift across the hill outside the window and wonder if dairy farming here is wearing away and tattering as well.

I got up about four this morning to shut down all appliances and computers before any bad mojo happened to them!
I think there were fireworks at the airport last night because I heard the noise and saw some light so I came downstairs and shut down the computers then. I'm so glad I did.
Love Mom.
Storms like that are NEVER appreciated!!!

Oh my friend.
Poignant words framing your question . . as summer drifts away.
Yes, "frayed and nibbled" as Annie Dillard put it in one of her essays in "Pilgrim at Tinker Creek."
Lisa, ours have been getting plugged in and unplugged all day and night. Iffy weather for sure.
Mom, we had fireworks Sunday night too. I was too lazy to get up and look at them. lol Love you
Linda, I am sure hoping we don't get stuck in this weather pattern!
Cathy, not a happy time in too many ways. there are good parts though.
