First Snow
Fell all unwelcome and unwanted, last night into this morning. I worried, as mothers will, because our boy was on the road from Washington DC, in a Camaro, in the dark of the night. Woke very early, long before the daylight, and padded outdoors in my bare feet, flashlight in hand. Camaro in the driveway? Yes, there is. And back to sleep until dawn's early light. Resting peacefully.
Ellie, makes me so happy, every time. He is a lot of fun....
Cathy, when they are all under one roof chaos ensues, but it is a good and beloved chaos.
Uta, well, I wish they would so you could enjoy them....and thanks, I do. Last night we all sat in the living room, everyone talking over one another, television forgotten, books lying abandoned in laps. It was sweet and I savored it all I could.
Uta try Germany, my son is there and has been for five years. He planned to be here for Christmas but a new job changed his plans. Thank God for phones and e mail.
Linda, I love it when he comes home, but I worry so much when he is on the road, especially when he is coming up from DC or Virginia....hope he gets work in NYC soon. So much closer. Glad your family is close again for a bit.
Ellie, Germany! That must be so hard. I know we are lucky to at least have our boy here in the states and on the same coast as we are an all. Hate it when he's driving though.

When I read the boy is home, it brought a smile to my face, a mothers response I guess.
A mother's heart. I know exactly where yours was as you stood there, barefooted in the dark. We always leave a light on.
I think I would stay up all night if I could get my children to come home from down south, I know where your coming from, enjoy.

Boy, do I know that feeling. Our son-in-law and two of the grandchildren came in last night in the late dark.
