Life on a family farm in the wilds of Upstate New York

what a lovely collection.
Beautiful shots! Must be something yummy in your soil to attract the butterflies and keep them there long enough to photograph the flighty critters.
Excellent buggy pics, the little yellow butterflies look like that are feasting on the nitrates in cow patties. :-)
Love the bugs, so many colors. A sad note, my husband passed away this morning. He had cancer in the omnetum, then a heart attack and stroke while in the hospital. He didn 't have a chance. My heart is breaking tonight.
Klara, thank you, this was truly a fun challenge
Jacqueline, I am sure you are right. They seem to prefer places where chopped feed was spilled to actual cattle waste, but they sure do love the roads and yards.
Ed, thanks, they also seem to love the places where the cows dumped chopped grass. Must concentrate the nutrients.
Ellie, Oh, no! I've been afraid of this. I am so sad for you and so sorry for your loss. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. I looked through all the comment form details to see if I could send you a private message, but I couldn't find one....sorry
Ellie, I deleted your comment after I got your addie so spammers and scammers don't get it too. Thanks!
Thanks I was going to ask you too but so much going on. My son is here from Dubai and daughter lives near so they are taking care of things and taking care of me. Like you I have a son that loves his Mom, a daughter too but Mom and son have a different relationship sometimes.
Ellie, thank God for family. I am glad your people are there for you...and I know just what you mean about sons and daughters. All are special, each is different. Take care....
