Four and Twenty
A huge flock of starlings is visiting our woods and the neighbor's woods every couple of days. I would hesitate to estimate how many, although I keep trying to come up with a rough number. What you see here might be a quarter of them. They are very loud and busy
Cathy, very nice! And isn't it funny that I think I recognize Keith's voice even though I have never met either of you.....alas....I do love watching starlings fly and we have the biggest flock in at least twenty-five years here this fall. The ones in the videos are only a tiny fraction of the total flock. Minimum...bare minimum...of 500. Probably actually three times that, but they rarely all fly at once. They drag me out of the house almost every day, they are so noisy and interesting.
Linda, they are! I love the videos you see of the gigantic murmurations in Europe! I could watch them for hours.

I love these birds when they're in motion. I just got this video last month in central Ohio.

They are the most beautifully choreographed birds!
