Fish Finders

Seven male Hooded Mergansers displaying like mad for a single female. She must have been a real femme fatale, as they flew up and down the river after her for several minutes, then all landed and tried to look fancy for her.

When they aren't chasing the ladies they are hot on fish and they catch plenty!

Beautiful! I think those ducks are a little rare. They sure are around here.
Love, Mom

Oh I adore Hoodies! They're not only beautiful, they make the most amazing mating music. Not rare at all, at least on the Hudson River north of Stillwater.

Mom, we see them pretty often this time of year, but then we are out looking every day...except today. Today we have surrendered to the weather and are staying home. Love you!

Jacqueline. I love to see them too! And we do see quite a few this time of year. Never heard them though. Everywhere we bird is so noisy!
