It might appear that there's been a bear in these here woods...but this is just the remains of one of the fungi loving all this rain |

Life on a family farm in the wilds of Upstate New York

You shot some interesting finds, especially the white ghostly fungi (?) The shell casings look newish. Does your area have an open hunting season? WI does not. That really looks like a pile of scat.
Lots of things underfoot if we care to look!
Cool! You found some interesting fungi!
Very cool! And I definitely thought that last photo was scat of some kind lol
Aurora, I never saw the white one before. The shells are in a quarry where we park to bird the state woods and large swamp near by. Evidently there is a lot of target shooting there, as we find all sorts of spent shells and casings.
Shirley, this was a fun one that I could do while walking in the state woods looking for birds. Alas I found more mushrooms than birds that day
Far Side, with all this rain the woods are lit up with them like little candles in the leaf litter
CDNcowgirl, My first thought as well, but closer examination proved it to be a dead shroom.
That "Scat" mushroom is very unusal!
Linda, I think it was one of the big, pinkish-orange ones that began to decay.
