I have never tried to grow geraniums from seed. Good use of the jug. Why the lid?

Shirley, I tried it years ago. Not always successful, but it's a great way to get colors that might otherwise be hard to find. Last year I could only get seeds for bright red, so I have quite a few of those upstairs for the winter. This year I have a mix, so no idea what I will get. The lid is to preserve moisture and warmth, not unlike a commercial seed starting tray. It has to be watched a bit more closely so it doesn't dry out as the lid doesn't fit very snuggly.
