Ex-president Gerald Ford dies

Not sure quite what to say about this. I kind of liked the guy. He seemed fairly harmless, a rather rare trait in a politician.

He was a decent man on the precipice of a rapidly declining and indecent age.

While I don't think it is expedient to always "get along to get along," there is a time to hold your peace and there is a time to be civil in the face of your enemies. Gerald Ford, magnanimous man that he was, knew when those times were necessary.

He was a truly Godly man. I hope he is hearing those words right now: "Well done, faithful servant! Enter into the joy of your Lord!"

Well said, Mrs. M. All presidents seem to operate in a whirl of controversy, but he seemed mild and moral in a world where those virtues are rapidly decling. Decent is a good word for him.
