Elaine Shein, my good friend at Blogriculture, has written a wonderful post on recent milk price increases. She really has it nailed. I find the Capital Press blog, Blogriculture, to be among the very best Ag blogs because it is well-written and entertaining, yet covers farm issues with real insight.
Thanks, Elaine, for sticking up for dairy farmers and our products. We need all the help we can get.
Thanks also to all you good folks who run to the store for a gallon of our product or grab a pizza with extra cheese or a milk shake with your lunch. We love you all. The girls all love you too.... 96, Char, Zinnia, Bariolee, Lemonade, ETrain, 114, Junie, Beausoleil, England, Bailey, Voldemar, Bayberry, Volcano, Adela, Star, Beech, Balsam, Butternut (3 full sisters) Veronica, Heather, Hattie, Hooter, (the Jersey girls) Lily, Mandolin Rain, Zipper, Kid, Jingle, Colorado, Sedona, Boston, Eland, Drive, Soir Noir, Chicago, Cisco (mother of Kid), Egrec, Elendil, Brink, Salt Lake, Lakota, Foolish, Detroit, Marge, Mango, Marvel, Sequoia, Berlin, Virginia, Mary, Mento, Consequence, Crunch, all think anybody who drinks milk or eats cheese is terrific.

As I celebrate Dairy Month, I will be thinking of all those girls and their kids. Well, I won't remember all the names, of course...
Hi Jan, thanks for thinking of them. I don't know all their names either, although our oldest daughter does.
The only price rise I never complain about is the rise in milk prices because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the plight of dairy farmers in upstate New York. I wish I could fuel my car with milk. It's still cheaper than gas.
In the fridge:
yogurt, sharp cheddar slices, shredded taco blend cheeses, milk, chocolate ice cream, sour cream, blue cheese dressing, a half-eaten milk chocolate bar (hey! who got into my chocolate?!), and some of those American process cheese slices (shudder ... that's JR's).
I think that about covers it.
Tell the girls thanks.
Ahh. All my lovely cowies say thank you to all who enjoy their delicious dairy products.
Thanks, Dan, I wish you could use milk for fuel, not only is it cheaper than gas, it smells and tastes a lot better too
FC, I just knew I liked your family and your refrigerator is proof positive! Hope your family get together is going well!
Thanks for your kind words re Blogriculture. You deserve to have someone write positive things about what you're doing. Coming from a farm myself (crops and beef cattle), I think that helped develop the deep respect I have for others who work on the farms and ranches.
The farm might be a thousand miles away, but I think of my family every day as they continue to work the land and care for our cattle.
I like the idea about fueling cars with milk. Maybe it can be the next ethanol ...
Elaine
