Fiber Converstion Fire
The girls called from the road down just north of 20 and asked us to put on channel nine to see where the huge fire was. I looked out the window and was stunned. These photos were taken over several hours from the living room window....terrible! The smoke can be seen for many miles at least 30.
Cathy, sorry the link was down..it was a fabric recycling plant so there were bales of fabric and fuzz and stuff piled to the ceiling. A miracle no one was injured.

Wow! That's a huge fire. I looked at the pictures and can't believe how much it looks like the foam rubber factory that burnt here last summer.
Stacy, I'll bet it is similar...they are showing it on TV and it is still raging out of control
I just e-mailed you a few photos from up-close. Jen's brother(Amsterdam City Fireman) sent them to me. Unbelievable!!!!
NYV, those are simply amazing! That is one terrible fire. Thanks for sending them to me...
my husband saw it while flying in the airplane from Albany to Pittsburgh's. He thought it was a Forrest fire.
MML, that is just amazing. From here there was so much smoke that it looked more like a storm cloud than something from a fire
The link was down and I couldn't determine what was burning. You said 'fiber'.
Thank goodness the wind was blowing it away from you.
