Pictures of grandma
The boss's late mother and her younger sister. He visited his aunt today and she sent several photos home with him (which we were thrilled to have and will certainly treasue.
They were true farm girls. Grandma Peggy used to cultivate the corn with the old buckskin horse when she was about this small. She always said no one wore shoes in the summer and he was wonderful about not stepping on her feet. When her dad died and the farm was sold she wanted so much to keep the old horse....
Cathy, she was the greatest and I am ashamed of every minute of trouble I ever caused her...and working together on the farm for 20 years there were plenty of them. Still, we cared for her at home during her final illness and when the hospice lady asked her a question and she couldn't find the words she told her to go get me...not her sons or grandkids who were right there too. She knew that I would know what she meant and I did....and that meant the world to me. I miss her every day.

We just have no concept or appreciation for what our ancestors had to do to get by.
That is such a tender memory: she wanted the horse that she'd followed barefoot through the corn.
I'll bet she was a wonderful mother-in-law.

Thank you for sharing your old photos. We sure have it easy these days.
I love the quartz too! Gorgeous
Nita, we do indeed, although we sure have plenty of complications. Thanks
