Life on a family farm in the wilds of Upstate New York

A blue one, nice! Whenever we see these guys (in north Alabama) we search the flock carefully to see if a Ross's goose might be mixed in. Every now and then there will be one! Do you get those too?
Can't say as I've ever seen one of those. Thanks for sharing.
Such an abudance of wildlife where you live. That blue goose is so unusual. I visited the bird sanctuary in Vergennes, VT once....saw the snow geese and other winter birds. Thousands of them. It was a beautiful sight to see. Never have seen them here in Maine. Thanks for sharing them through your photos. :0)
Beautiful! I saw some snow geese recently. They were wheeling around just above a cornfield - getting ready to land, I think. It was late afternoon, and when the sun shone on them, they were so white that they almost looked like headlights!
The hummingbirds are up into southern NY state. When do you hang your hummer feeder? -NW
We don't have anything like that here. Are they just stopping before going North or do you get to see them thoughout the summer?
Wonderful!
(can you tell I'm late this morning too?)
Rurality, I have never looked for them in the past, but I surely will now...what neat little geese! Thanks
Linda, some years we don't see any..this is a good year for them
Deb, thanks for your kind words. We get to Montezuma wildlife refuge every now and then...wonderful
NW, they are so startling when you see them, unexpectedly large and white. don't have the hummer feeder up yet, but I probably should pretty soon.
Nita, some of the Canadas stay, the snows and most Canadas head on out
FC, we were late for the tanker...naughty farmer folks!!
Oh you lucky ducky! That is just so neat. I've never seen snow geese as close as this. Wow.
Thanks, Cathy, this is the best year for migratory birds in recent memory.
Wow, a blue goose. Neat!
WR, I'll bet there are some of them up your way too...
