When I was hanging out laundry today

I felt someone watching me. I looked around but didn't see anyone............except a red-tailed hawk circling lazily over the heifer barn.
The mockingbird tilting back and forth on the telephone wire.
Two gold finches spiraling ever higher as they fought furiously.
The wren singing from another wire.
And this guy.....lurking in the rhubarb leaf bird bath....

It's good to know we are never really alone.

Nice to know someone besides me still hangs laundry out. :o)
Love those golden eyes on a toad, he looks very content in your birdbath.

Jan, they are good company too, except maybe those quarrelsome gold finches. I couldn't believe the little toad. He was pressing his fat little belly down into the bird bath for all the world like someone in their private jacuzzi.

Nita, I love this time of year...birds and critters all around

Caroline, I love it when I can. I don't use a drier so in inclement weather I use laundry bars in our big unused parlor....and the toad did seem very happy and paid no attention at all to me taking his picture.

Cool (literally) toad.

FC, he was so funny, squashed down in that birdbath with no intention of moving for me or anybody else.

Maybe you could call him a "peeping frog"

wouldja look at that! my question is why you didn't teach them how to help you hang the laundry... NOW I know why winter is such a mood burner. This is great stuff.

Mon@rch...perfect!! lol

Steve, as far as seeing birds and wildlife this is the best summer I have ever had. I don't have any idea why, although I think the berries and the garden pond, with the sound of splashing water, brings in a lot of things. We certainly have had a lot more birds since we put it in. Thanks
