Hyssop
We added hyssop to the herb garden for the first time last summer. It wintered over well and in the contained area by the honey locust it doesn't seem invasive. It has produced a few seedlings though, which I will pot up when I get a chance.....it is too nice not to share. We don't really use it for anything, but it is attractive and we love the scent. A crushed leaf smells just like licorice. We give each other leaves sometimes.
Fred Neat stuff!!! Wanna share??? Would look cool at our garden pond!!!! Looks like I may be down here for the length of the job. Home every other weekend after this weekend. Told the powers that be that I won't miss Tawny's PARTY!!!!I'll find another job if I need to!! Love ya !!!! Mappy
Linda, I guess it is used to make cough medicines. I just like the look and scent of it.
Matt, you are just the guy I was thinking of when I made plans to pot some of the volunteers. How long will that be> And I don't blame you. Not as if when you signed on you knew it would take you so far away for so long....every other weekend is rough on you and the family for Pete's sake. Love you too
Aussie O, thanks, I believe it is related to mint...at least it looks like it. I probably should have put it in full sun, but I like to keep the very vigorous plants where I can easily contain them.
Fred Saturday AM I'm home for the weekend !!!!!!!! Going to drive my truck down there . They finally realized I need my tools. Glad you were thinking of me when you potted the plants!! Talk to you tomorrow!! Love ya Mappy
Hi my friends and i recently started a series of online websites on conscious living and on today's home page we decided to put hyssop. We call ourselves the local wisdom bank, where everyone comes and adds to the wisdom.
Please do check the article out and add, edit, rewrite, whatever you like. If you'd like to write an audio comment on the article please do so at traydio which the audio based wisdom bank. I love the photographs that you have have of the hyssop. But funnily enough it looks like something the goats eat up in the hills in northern India.

I've heard of hyssop but never knew what it looked like. Way to tender for here at any rate. What is it used for?
