Night Photos
The boss bought me a tripod a very long time ago. It is a nice one. I have never used it.
However, I like to take pictures of the moon and stars and such night time type stuff, so a couple of days ago I dug it out and began going out before night milking to attempt some pictures. Nothing spectacular yet, but I am learning how so when we get some neat night sky stuff I can get it......I hope

Nice, 3C! I'm trying to figure out how to get good moon shots, too. They mostly turn into a big round ball of light, no matter what stage it's at. Maybe it looks different on the other side of the river. :)
Great shots......you always have the coolest night pictures. I've missed out on many. I'm hoping to figure out the night setting on the new camera eventually and get some of those good ones :)
Good luck, I have enough trouble when there is light! Are you guy's still there in upstate after that wind last night? Man, I kept waiting for the house to take flight....
Akagaga, I am really having fun with the tripod, although I am not very mechanical...good thing I have Alan to help me.
Dani, some nights we have a lot of light pollution, some nights not so bad...depending on cloud cover I guess. We have had some nice clear ones lately though.
WR, I got a little of that last night, but I am saving it for Sunday Stills. I forget to look until it's time to go out and milk...and that wind was fierce! We heard of calf hutches being blown away with the calves in them!
Deb, thanks so much! It is the tripod making all the difference.
WW, we lucked out but see previous comment...some folks had it real rough. thanks for thinking of us!
Steve, thank you so much!
Ed, it is a Canon S3IS. Photographically the greatest thing that has ever happened to me....ever! I rarely go a day without taking at least a few photos and I never go anywhere without it. Thanks for the offer of advice. I am a fly by the seat of my pants photographer and can use any and all tips on doing better.
Linda, your photographs are spectacular even without it. I am looking forward to using mine on birds in summer...I am just too jiggly. lol

We were sitting outside last night admiring how beautiful the moon looked. It would have been alot nicer without the light pollution though.
You just missed the planet alignment but no doubt something new will come along soon.

Wow, I think you already found it.

Later...Ed
Good ones. I've a cheap tripod......somewhere, but haven't a clue where I put the darn thing.
