I used to hate doing word verifications on blogs where I comment. I know how miserable it is to be comment spammed all the time, but I never could read or duplicate those complicated constructions of incongruent consonants. Now many of them are almostwords and they are so much easier. I saved up up a few this week to tell you a story using them...and what fun I had! (But watch out for those unfoom recatists. They are rough on rats, I'll tell you!)

I used to hate the word verification process too (I think that's why I went with Wordpress) but at least now Blogger is throwing in a few vowels to make a "sort of word". I did a slumbum and sockam yesterday.

I vote they get rid of word verification and add spell check on the comment page for people like me who cannot get it right!

lol - i've been thinking of doing the same kind of post. great minds? i like these almost words WAY better than those weird ones where it took me several tries 'cause the 'l' was really an 'i.'

The house is beautiful. Do you use all of it? Is it all heated? I used to live in a big farm house and it never seemed to get warm. When I was little my Mom would warm my blanket to wrap me in when I went to bed so I could stay warm.
I've been thinking along the same lines lately. They're easier to type AND funnier.

Deb, I turned them off at Jinglebob's request as I enjoy reading his (and everybody's) comments. I have had some spam, but not too bad so far. And I didn't even notice the spelling. lol
And thanks for the kind words on the house. The boss's parents lived next door years ago and bought this farm when it came up for sale. the house was sort of a bonus. I love living here....it has a lot of personality!

Anon, we don't use a couple of the upstairs bedrooms and we just dry laundry and store stuff in the big parlor. It doesn't really have a lot of rooms, as the rooms are huge! We heat about half the downstairs and there is minimal (but much welcomed) heat in the bedrooms. We make hot water bottles out of soda bottles and use them...a real necessity in rooms where the water would probably freeze some nights. I like the blanket idea...that is really sweet!

Islagringo, it is indeed the house. thanks...it is an adventure living here. I don't know how else to describe it. The only house that I ever lived in that is grateful when you clean it and shows its gratitude.
