I love moose... wish I could have seen it too, poor girl she must have been scared half to death...Glad she will be OK. Do you think she would have placed? What would you call a moose jockey? Besides crazy...
hope she doesn't have a baby nearby...poor thing. we always think it is so funny to see warning signs in vermont..."moose crossing", but it is not funny if you hit one!!!
My folks in Plattsburgh just called to have me look at their local newspaper to see the photo online. They were chagrined because I saw it yesterday on your blog! We were in Saratoga last summer and I knew right where it was. So that is Central NY to Western South Dakota back to Northern NY, ain't the internet fun!
Caroline, that is the funniest thing! It made my day (which needed making) to read about it. lol I give a great deal of credit to the NYRA photographer who got the pic of her standing in front of the information booth...it looked posed it was so well done.

anon, she could probably outrun a good many of the horses. Moose are really fast or so I have read.
Anon, only bigger
WW, now you've got me thinking up names for moose jockeys...crazy does fit quite well. lol
KK, I suspect she probably doesn't. There are only a tiny handful of moose around here usually when they are on the move looking for new territory.
