Great shots. The chickens are really pretty. Can't believe that sweet looking hen became Saturday dinner!!

Well done! Loved "dinner"!!! lol

Anon, sorry about that. Five roosters is way too many for the little handful of hens we have. And I figure, better us then the fisher

Ed, thanks

CTG, thank you

Dibear, sorry for the confusion. It is the rooster below that became a menu item. We had five roos and only a handful of hens...and the fisher is preying on our poultry whenever they are outside. Figured better us than him

LIsa, thanks, can't wait

Sara, thanks. Liz made chicken and biscuits last night...and they were amazing. Fact of life on a farm. Extra roosters become dinner...

FIVE! My goodness. No wonder you're up so darn early in the morning.

Hope he tasted good. Certainly has a bit of a "look" in his eye in this photo. "Dinner? Say what?"

The rest of the photos are great, too.

Five roosters would get anyone up in the morning.........good job! How're your fingers feelin' after all that guitar pickin'??

Joated, he was a wild one for sure. Tasty though. Thanks

Holly, thank you!

Lisa, thanks, it was an amazing dinner.

Janice, thank you...it is exactly

FHT, thanks, he was a pretty guy, but we had more than was reasonable or comfortable for the poor hens. Roosters not being the most circumspect of creatures.

MSW, thanks!

Linda, thanks...my fingers hurt like heck. lol...but it was worth it ten times over. We were playing along and I heard this sweet, soft voice behind me, and it was my mother singing. I almost cried....

Ebie, range fed at least and the dinner Liz made was amazing. She is a really good cook. Thanks for your kind words.

It always surprises me what the fur of animals look like close up and on film.

Beautiful! It looks like thier winter fur has grown in and she is taking good care of hers!

Linda, it is odd isn't it, how the hair shows up. NS is a dark cherry/mahogany sort of color, but she always shows up orange on camera...weird.

Far Side, thanks, it was amazing. Nothing like home grown and home cooked.
