Rain has Arrived
And it is cold. However, before it arrived yesterday, Alan got over twenty acres with the disks and the boss got half the field under the power lines done. It is still pretty wet, but they have to go if they can.Freeze warning for tomorrow night and everything is in riotous bloom. The pear blossoms are fulling open, the apples just beginning. I hope it doesn't get TOO cold.
Damp and rainy - yuck! They are calling for a foot of snow in the mountains tonight - glad I don't live there. Stay dry ~hope the sunshines on you soon!
CTG, we didn't end up getting TOO awful much but it set us back a few days..thanks for the nice weather, which just arrived!!Q
Linda, howling wind yesterday. Even though it wasn't really cold I could barely work outside. I was afraid of branches falling on me. Hope the storm gives you a miss so you get the weather you need!
Jan, crazy isn't it? I am trying to get stuff done on the nice days...when it always seems that I simply must do bookwork, indoors, whether I like it or not
Mrs. M, my ground is all fitted but the weather isn't fitting. lol
Deb, hoping the same for you...hope the little piggies are doing well too. I have to get my husband to look at the pics on your blog. He really likes pigs.
Cathy, you are right about that...that is probably our very best field. It is good, black, slate ground and will grow corn so tall you can't touch the top while standing on the tractor hood.

It's been raining here since Saturday night but we are finally seeing a break in the clouds and some sun. Sending some your way!
Yesterday and today are lovely. 77* but a 35 mph wind is expected today with A.N.O.T.H.E.R. winter storm coming in.
Terry is planting corn anyway and hoping it doesn't rot in the ground, or poke the little heads up and get frozen.
Farming is sure a gamble.

After a lovely spring-like February and March, we are back into winter storms. Go figure.
We've got intermittent snow today. I'm getting pretty antsy, waiting to sow garden seeds.... *sigh*

I'm not an expert that that looks like good soil.
We, too - are under a frost advisory.
More proof of global warming ;0)
Per my comment above:
I'm not an expert - 'but' that looks like good soil.
(Message to self: slow down)
