Sunday Stills...Barns
Looking down the scary stairs in the hop house that I had to go up for some pics
I had fun with this one. No shortage of material around here and with the boss and most of the crew gone to the auction for the day I needed to go out and keep an eye on our domain anyhow.
Dibear, thanks, I found so much cool stuff while pottering around in the buildings
gigi, thank you!
Brenda, thanks I had fun
Dani, thank you. I will tell you...I hung on tight to the walls when going up and down. lol
Thanks, Ed!
Far Side, thanks, hops were a big crop here back in the day...for beer I am sure. I really wonder why more people don't grow them now. There is quite a market from micro breweries
MIchelle, thanks, it was kind of fun to poke around to see what I could find out there. I love the hop house and wish we could afford to restore it to its former glory.
Love the echoes. Always haunting to visit places - once new and busy - now quiet and haunted.
My hubby and I frequently look at abandoned things and places - and wonder if when the owner put something down and walked away if he knew that it was for the last time.
I loved your photos!!! The staircase was great! We have an old barn and the staircase scares the heck out of me, its crooked as all get out, and would have loved to take a pic on it too but its so dark in there, another reason for me not to go into the loft! LOL But the loft is so big I also love it once I get up there! Some great pics you have I enjoyed seeing them!
cathy, it is an amazing old place. This farm had one of the first cheese factories in the state at one time. Building is gone now, but our barns are very, very old.
CTG, thanks, they are real steep...I was hanging on to the walls every minute I was on them...and hoping!
Linda, sorry about your old barn...we have the same thing with a number of cool old buildings...they were here when the boss was a kid, but his folks let them go
WTWF, thanks...I was really nervous going up them, but I really wanted to get pics upstairs. I am afraid to venture out on the floor or I would get pics of the cool stuff stored behind the boards. There are old bob sleighs and all kinds of neat things
Chastity, thanks, I had fun taking them
Teri, thanks, I enjoyed puttering around taking them. There are so many cool things to find because this place is so old...as I was telling Cathy, there was one of the first cheese plants (if not the first) in the state north of the cow barn at one time...gone under the road now alas.

Must be hops for making of the beer? Great shots..at least there were stairs instead of a ladder! I like your collages they were very interesting! :)

Wow, those stairs look steep! Love the pics.
Cool shots. Since our old barn is torn down history has gone with it, you still have yours.
