We were given a handsome male guinea fowl last week. Seems he was a trouble maker in his old home, always fighting with the other guineas and the family roosters. Here we are giving him his own harem in hopes that he will produce many more like himself...he is a lovely solid purplish-grey, I think considered a royal purple. Or maybe not..the color chart is kind of confusing. Anyhow he is a beautiful bird and we are tickled to have him.

That's a pretty big entrance to somebody's home :) Not sure I'd want to meet it in the dark!
The royal purples are a pretty color. So many color choices now. I hope he helps produce lots of babies for you. They sure are cute when they are little and following their Mom, picking and bugging.

Oh goody! Maybe we will get to see photos of nests, then baby's!
We have coyote dens, but I'm too afraid to get close enough to photo one or get a shot of the pups.

We don't need no stinkin game cam. We just lay on our bellies in the dirt with the camera pointed at the burrow ... and we wait... and wait... and wait...zzzzzzzzzz.
Ummmm . . OK. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder :-) And I'm sure he's gorgeous in his purple raiment.
I know that groundhogs are the bane of farmers. Livestock and equipment issues. Still - they're awfully cute as babies.

Deb, I am pretty sure it is a woodchuck den. Funny thing, the guinea hens finally started laying a couple of days after we got him...and thanks, you have a good day too
Lisa, we are working on it. Liz put three eggs in the incubator yesterday, along with some chicken eggs

Linda, I am pretty sure this is just a woodchuck, but we have a lot of coyotes too. Alan knows where the dens are I guess.

Cathy, their heads are ugly aren't they? And they are dumb as rocks and loud as rock concerts. I am not sure just why I like them....lol
Ericka, yes, undoubtedly a woodchuck hole. The guineas supposedly eat ticks and they are very popular. We are hoping to make a few bucks selling keets if we get any.
