Life on a family farm in the wilds of Upstate New York

Sure is a good reason! Besides supporting our own farmers!
I love buying local.
China should get milk from our farmers, too. Due to China's harsh "one baby per couple" rule, the parents whose babies died was mostly likely their only child. If the women have been sterilized, no more children for them. Horribly, horribly unjust and tragic.
I'd really like to see a list of ALL foods we get from China. Wishful thinking, I know. Our government is totally corrupt....
Lisa, I shudder to think of how many products that we use every day that have milk powder in them...potentially imported from China. I can't believe everyone is already brushing off the huge number of pet deaths from contamination.
CTG, and I am glad!
Rebecca, I once did research on problems caused by foods imported from China. Melamine is only one of many adulterations and deadly mislabeling that have come here from there. For example, deadly puffer fish disguised as some common fish that nearly killed several people a couple of years ago. Didn't even make the headlines. It is upsetting as heck, because milk powder is incorporated into so many products..with no country of origin labeling.
