State Fair

A kind friend sent me this link to a lovely article about agricultural fairs...which are among my favorite things that there are.

The author neatly synopsizes all that makes up a fair from carnies to funnel cakes and camel rides to giant cucumbers. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

State fairs and county fairs have been part of our family traditions for as long as I can remember.

I've never been to the Kansas State Fair, but reading the article it seemed as if I had because the traditions are the same all over the country.

I was surprised to find out that the California fairs are the same as I was used to in the Midwest, only with palm trees.

Jan, I know just what you mean. I have loved the fairs since I was just a little kid...it is so sad to see that our culture is changing so much that they are struggling to survive.
