I think anyone who milks should know what tis is. I milk goats with the same thing I do our cows so I have two of these. Only yours looks a little newer than mine.
Linda, it would work for that wouldn't it! It actually is a plug that you put in the milker cup to close off the vacuum for a three-quartered cow. Our vet gave it to me as a sort of door prize at their annual customer picnic.
TMM, I knew my dairy friends would know. I have this one big old cow that has been three quartered most of her life. Generally she stands like a statue, but the flies really bother her and when they do she treads her feet. This thing will save me some aggravation until frost.
Anon, this was a door prize, but I like the ping pong ball idea. We have never tried them, although the case from a 10cc syringe works too...until they step on it. Thanks for the tip!
GM, I never thought of using on...or two...for goats, but that is a great idea. I have one cow that I need something like this for because she is bothered by flies and stomps around while I milk her.

Not a clue! A soother for a bucket baby;)
Of course I know what that is and hopefully you and I don't have to use it too often!
how about trying a ping-pong ball?, much cheaper.
or is that not reliable enough?
