Puddle Wonderful

Actually I don't think puddles are all that wonderful these days, as in, if I don't see another one this fall it will be soon enough. But aren't these puddling butterflies wonderful? I love their pink legs and little green tennis ball eyes.

Wow! That's a bunch of butterflies! And yeah, I share your attitude about puddles. It isn't just butterflies that love all this rain, the mosquitoes are breeding like crazy, too.

Smile makers for sure!

Why do they do that? Are they drinking or washing?

Here in Georgia, I see the Buckeye butterflies settling on wet ground. I have birdbaths all over the place, so they must prefer dirt. :)

Joated, it was fun to watch them while I was waiting for Alan

WW, aren't the skeeters awful?!?! They bite me even if I am bathed in off!

Dani, they are!

JB, according to what I looked up about it, it is mostly males which do it and they are gathering up minerals and such so as to be good at reproduction.

Susan Rose, minerals or so I read. Pretty anyhow

VIH, they are pretty and not moths

Cathy, an unexpected bonus of the day of the sorghum chopping pics
